The glamorous event was held on Tuesday 5th April 2011. Kim and Michel Marcer the proud new owners of the Ripples Bath franchise and took part in the official ribbon cutting of the refurbished showroom in Bath....

The glamorous event was held on Tuesday 5th April 2011, complete with red carpet, black tie doorman, magician Ben Williams from unbelievable magic, champagne reception, Ripples/Axor cocktail bar serving Vodka based drinks such as The Ripples Masterpiece, Axor Design, The Taps, The Shower.

The official ribbon cutting was performed by Iain McKinlay, Hansgrohe, Managing Director, Kim & Michel Marcer (Directors Ripples Bath) and Roger Kyme (CEO Ripples Ltd).

Kim and Michel Marcer the proud new owners of the Ripples Bath franchise, the owners of the Ripples Bristol franchise for the past 15 years, and along with raising three children, Kim and Michel have seen a dream come true as if life was not hectic enough for the couple. Kim explained that since first working in the office at the Ripples Bath showroom some 17 years ago she has seen the company expand and has always enjoyed retailing bathrooms and this outlet was one she and Michel wanted to operate. Michel, formally a manager at Mahogany hair salon in Bath said it will be like coming home, meeting up with many faces of days gone by.

Michel commented, that both Ripples Bristol and Bath have picked up over 48 industry awards for retailing, design and customer service and believes the expansion will be good for everyone, importantly the customer, and stated the directors of Ripples Ltd believed Ripples Bath outlet required an entirely fresh approach and wanted to see the showroom set the standard as a benchmark in retailing bathrooms and Michel explained this is a task we look forward to responding to with great relish.


The large attractive showroom has benchmarked all things retail in bathrooms from the site for almost 23 years, and the new showroom will be different in many ways advised CEO Roger Kyme, we want to reach new heights in every sense, customer service being the number one prioirty.Of course we will be showing many new ranges, all new display setting with many working displays! The showroom has been re-laid out to bring the concept bang up to date, we would like to think that we have reacted to the demands of the discerning consumer. The bathroom industry responds very effectively to the latest in home fashions said Kyme, we like to think we know what the people want. The big change to the showroom will be the Axor concept store, a shop within a shop, enhancing choice, style and the very latest equipment and in Michel Marcer, genuine expertise.


The decision to launch the Axor concept store from within the Ripples Bath outlet was to bring together two winning formulas, Hansgrohe National sales manager Rob West explained, Ripples was a first choice for us, we know Kim & Michel well, we know the showroom well and as one of our largest clients in the UK Ripples is the perfect partner. Ripples live, eat and breath bathrooms, they know what they are doing and to bring the concept to Bath was an important factor, as a retail centre Bath is up there with the best cities in the UK and therefore the match was perfect
Axor is about more than just product. Its about complete bathroom collections, and beyond that, the bathroom in its entirety. All Axor collections are created in collaboration with external designers, many of whom are also architects and always begin a new project by thinking about the space.
In fact, three of the collections on display in Ripples, Bath: Axor Massaud, Axor Urquiola and the newly launched Axor Bouroullec grew out of a project called Axor WaterDream. Headed by Axor Brand Manager, Philippe Grohe, three internationally successful designers were approached and asked to create their dream bathrooms. In the spirit of creative freedom, the designers were given free reign to create concepts that re-interpreted the bathroom.
Each applying their own unique insights and talents, the designers considered the occupants, their modern lifestyles and their physical and emotional requirements from a bathroom. Using this context, they created blueprints for new bathroom layouts and products that are unique and comprehensive, from the general floor plan to individual products right through to the smallest details including accessories and interior decoration.

These can be experienced in their entirety, for the first time in the UK at Ripples, Bath with the launch of the Axor Concept Store. Iain McKinlay, Hansgrohe, Managing Director, comments, Showroom space is always at a premium, so it has taken entrepreneurial vision on the part of the retailer to invest in the 200SQM required to create what is the very first Axor Concept Store. We are delighted that Ripples, Bath is displaying five Axor collections, complete with the layouts and details as originally envisaged by the designer. We hope that these designers visions will inspire Ripples customers to open their cheque books and invest in a beautiful new bathroom of their own.
