The Reynolds family, owners of Allington Farm Shop in Chippenham are celebrating their success in the 2010 Countryside Alliance Awards. The farm shop, which celebrates its 30th year of trading this year, has won the best local food award for the Wessex Region (which covers Wiltshire, Dorset & Gloucestershire) for the second time in 3 years.

A record number of rural businesses across the country were nominated by their customers in the sixth year of these awards run by the Countryside Alliance.

Winning this award is particularly special because we have been nominated for it by our customers. We have a fantastic team here and winning this prestigious award is a great reward for all their hard work said Tim Reynolds, who runs the farm shop with his wife, Naomi.

The Countryside Alliance Awards celebrate the values by which we run our business, bringing the produce which we have produced here on our farm and other local produce to our local community said Paul, Tims father, who first opened the shop 30 years ago.

The Countryside Alliance judging panel carried out a site visit at Allington Farm Shop and were impressed with how the shop champions local food and supports local producers.

As regional winners Allington Farm Shop have now been put forward for the national final, the winners of which will be announced at the award ceremony at the House of Lords in London on 30th March.
