Malmesbury Carnival


A dedicated band of volunteers has been beavering away throughout the dark winter months to bring you the biggest programme of events ever, with some old favourites and a host of new things to see, do, and take part in! Taste the best of local food with A Cotswold Feast, try Morris Dancing, dress outrageously for the Rocky Horror Picture Show, and top it all off with the Grand Procession on 5 September.

Devizes International Street Festival 2009


This year sees the 10th anniversary of the Devizes International Street Festival. The festival started in 1999 as part of a rejuvenation programme for Devizes Carnival, and a decade later has become a major festival in its own right and one of the biggest one-day events of its kind in the South West.



The event will conclude with a spectacular fireworks display, with special effects and music finale inspired by Wiltshire's Crop Circles, presented by pyrotechnicians The World Famous. And it's all free! Various venues around Devizes. www.streetsofdevizes.co.uk

Georgian Smells and Regency Day at Stourhead House


Find out about the 18th century through the sense of smell and then join costumed re-enactors from Farthingale of Bath for a Regency promenade to Stourhead House. Enjoy music in the saloon, dancing demonstrations in the Picture Gallery and learn the tricks of Regency card games. Accompanied children only.

Willow and Wire Hen Workshop



Sculptor Julieann Worrall Hood shows how to create garden sculpture from willow and wire, taking inspiration from Folly Cottage's livestock! Her work has wide appeal and is in demand for public spaces. She has extensive experience of working on a domestic and public scale, from sculpture in wire, steel and bronze, drawing, installation, mosaic, tapestry and theatre design, to illustrating garden designs and planting plans.
