Wetpaint Gallery is pleased to continue its programme of high profile shows with a vibrant collection of Pop Art and work inspired by the visual art movement that reflected the youth and pop culture of the 1950's and 1960's. Pop Art included different styles of painting and sculpture from various countries, but what they all had in common was an interest in mass-media, mass-production and mass-culture.

To celebrate his 80th birthday, Sir Peter Blake, the Godfather of British Pop Art will lead this exciting exhibition, and the show will feature the artists very latest publications as well as some of the more collectable and rarer editions. Best known for the iconic album cover for the Beatles Sergeant Pepper, Blakes work is inspired by his love affair with icons and the ephemera of popular culture.

The exhibition will include work by iconic artists such as Andy Warhol, Damien Hirst and Robert Indiana, supported by contemporary artists Julia Trigg and Justine Smith.

Due to the high profile nature of the artist, Sir Peters work is now much in demand with many editions selling out before they are released. Says gallery owner Celia Wickham. Early viewing is recommended for anyone looking to add to their collection.

Entry to the exhibition is free and all works will be for sale. A selection of work will be available to view on the website.
