A spectacular open-air theatrical experience, this version of Treasure Island is a modern presentation of the classic tale of treachery and treasure on the tropical seas.

There is an exciting steam punk twist on the costumes and action (think Waterworld, Time Bandits, Mad Max). With savvy showmanship including dramatic fights and pyrotechnics, this eccentric and unforgettable production is in every sense a spectacle.

It all begins at an Inn on the Devonshire coast in 1775 and rapidly becomes a tale of treachery and mayhem set on the high seas. Young Jim Hawkins battles the infamous villain Long John Silver, and other unscrupulous buccaneering rogues. The decks are awash with legendary swashbucklers and brassy female pirates. With their greedy quest for gold, and Long John Silver's fatherly affection for Jim, it is a story sure to capture the imagination and win the hearts of anyone who has ever longed for treasure and adventure.

Set in the stunning gardens of Hamptworth Lodge (not often open to the public) on the edge of the New Forest between Romsey and Salisbury, the audience is able to arrive early and picnic in the beautiful grounds. Come dressed as a pirate if you dare...

Maskers Theatre Company is one of the Souths leading amateur theatre groups. Formed nearly 45 years ago it prides itself on high quality theatre. The Maskers have been bringing open air theatre to the people of Hampshire and Wiltshire for nearly thirty years (previously at Mottisfont Abbey near Stockbridge, now in the beautiful grounds of Hamptworth Lodge). A firm favorite with many regulars who each year pack their picnics, sit back, relax and enjoy the magic of the Maskers in the open air
