On Saturday 30 July, the seaside comes to town as the Old George Mall, in association with Spire FM, bring the shore line to Salisbury with a Beach Party complete with music, entertainment, food and drink and even sand!

Between 10.00am and 4.00pm, shoppers visiting the Centre can enjoy the sounds of Summer with a Steel Band and can limber up and gyrate their hips with Love Hoops hula hoop classes. And to cool off, there will be a hot tub too!

For younger visitors, theres traditional seaside fun with Punch & Judy shows, Slush Puppies and Popcorn.

However, the focus of the day will be the giant sandpit and the Grand in the Sand competition.

For a small donation of 1.00, visitors to the Old George Mall can buy a flag and place this in a one of the grid squares in the sandpit where they think the Grand in the Sand is hidden. All flags in the winning square will be entered to a Free Draw with the first name drawn winning the hidden treasure valued at 1,000!

Our retailers have been very generous by donating gifts and vouchers to form this grand prize of a Grand, says Jon Osgood, Manager of the Old George Mall.
We ran the Grand in the Sand Summer Fun in association with Spire FM last year and it proved so popular, we decided to organise the event again this year. And with all monies raised on the day going to the Stars Appeal at Salisbury Hospital, we hope it will, in particular, add to the Pembroke Unit Fund which provides specialist treatment centre for people with cancer, blood disorders and hematological conditions.

During the day, shoppers can enjoy free coffee, while stocks last, donated by Costa Coffee and the Boston Tea Party and enjoy music, game and activity with Spire FM.
