Dreamt up by local historian James Holland and founder of Ottakar's James Heneage, this years festival takes place from 7-9 July in Bowerchalke, just outside Salisbury

The inaugural Chalke Valley History Festival is taking place between 7-9 July this year in Bowerchalke, just outside Salisbury

Dreamtup by local historian James Holland and founder of Ottakars James Heneage, thisyear sees a wonderful line up of speakers, including Peter Snow, Michael Wood, Col Tim Collins, John Julius Norwich, Michelle Paver and Katie Hickman, and more!

Patrons include the bestselling historians Antony Beevor and Max Hastings.

Local caterers Martin Simcocks Bread and Flowers will doing the catering, and all proceeds will go to Help for Heroes and the new cricket ground in Bowerchalke.
