Goughs Solicitors are proud to announce that they are the first law firm in Wiltshire to become members of the Law Societys new Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS).

The CQS is a quality standard awarded to solicitors' firms in recognition of their consistently high levels of service and advice and will help homebuyers identify a quality conveyancing provider.

To become a member Goughs had to demonstrate excellence in four key principles, reliability, service delivery, quality of service and integrity.

Kevin Dobson, Partner and Head of Conveyancing at Goughs commented We are delighted to become the first firm in Wiltshire to gain CQS accreditation as it underlines the quality of the services we provide. It is often difficult for people to believe in a "quality" service, as the term is overused in adverts or publicity material.

Being awarded theConveyancing Quality Schemestandardinvolved a detailed and lengthy check up by the Law Society. This included a thorough review of our financial strength, our Partners, our staff, our training and internal procedures, our claims and complaints record andour levels of customer satisfaction. It's a rigorous check up by an external body which took some months and a lot of work. We have to undertake further training andfurther checks and adhere to a stringentprotocol to make sure that our work is of a very high standard.

I hope that the scheme willprovide an instantly recognisable quality standard for excellence and reliability, andwillmake it easier for homebuyers to identify a trusted and reliablesolicitor.

The nationwide scheme is supported by the Council of Mortgage Lenders, the Building Societies Association and the Association of British Insurers and aims to create a trusted conveyancing community based around the delivery of a consistent, reliable and quality service.
